Congrats to Bucky!

Bucky on the No Slack won the first annual Seven Mile Marina Shark Tourney. Twelve bull sharks by noon for 3600 points and a commanding lead. I was going to interview Bucky, but thanks to new plumbing issues I had to leave early to deal with minor bedroom flooding.

Prior to the flood, the Shark Tourney was a blast, both at the dock and on the boats. I was dockside since my sponsor wimped out. 25 knot winds, he must have had his skirt on. Definitely a fun tourney to think about for next year. The food provided by Rumbums was fantastic. Dan and crew at the 7 mile did a great job running their first tourney. But, with sharks as the target, a few captains had some aches and pains they normally don't have. There were some big fish caught and released that really didn't want to participate.

I Owe a Serious Apology to all Marathon Fishermen

Thursday on the radio I told everyone how easy it is to catch bait. That day of course I caught squat for bait. The whole Marathon fleet had issues catching bait. It was my fault and I admit it. My apologies to everyone for the jinx.

Your Sex Life and Carrots

I didn't fish today so I spent time on my second best skill. Sex. As you age you begin to wonder how long you can perform. I found out today that nearly endless stamina is available if you eat your veggies.

More Marathon Fishing

The predators won most of the battles today. Between sharks and barracuda the box looked pretty dismal. We lost ten or twelve nice bottom fish to sharks and 'cudas. Even the King Mackerel we caught yesterday didn't want to play for fear of reprisal.

Finally, I decide to get revenge on the predators. We headed to the Rubble Pile to whack some 'cudas. But the Hammerheads whacked the 'cudas we were trying to whack. How we managed to get the sweet African Pompano pictured is beyond me. Anywho, we got one nice fish and dozens of "Dang it! Not agains." I need a few victims, er customers to target large sharks hanging out at my honey holes.

A Little Snapper Action

Not a particularly great day, but pretty steady. Have Joe Hobbs and his son Jordan down for a few days. We did some meat fishing for snapper. Pretty much limited on snapper but only had one big one. A 12 pound mutton plus released a decent Jewfish. I have put these guys on some serious fish so the heat is on.

Finally! I Have Water Pressure.

Never have I had such a simple project take so long to complete. Today I can now enjoy a luxurious shower that is well past due. Fishing wise, I have today off then three days fishing with regular customers that are a joy to fish with and then a couple trips with some new customers that seem to be pretty savvy. Happy days are here again.

This is my time of the year. I can put people on damn near anything they want. The guys that come down this time of year are serious fisherfolks so my life is much easier. And the weather starts getting a bit more fisher friendly. Now if I can just remember to take some photos, the blog should get more interesting.
