A bit more like it should be.

The new place called Monte is set up and we are mostly moved in.  Monte had a few issues but those are mainly resolved.  Once Monte was set up we finally had a place to stash salvaged stuff from the old RV and are collecting some stuff to keep and some to donate to people really hammered by Irma.

With all the moving stuff I did managed to slip in one fishing trip.  Kind of surprised we didn't get into more mackerel action, but we haven't had a real cold front yet.  In any case, the mangroves and lane snapper made sure we had plenty for dinner.

Finding a place to stay this season will be more of a challenge than usual.  That is because many locals are having to rent vacation rentals while things are being repaired.  We had to rent as vacant lot and install electric, water and still have to install a more permanent sewer line for the Monte.

There are still quite a few businesses closed, like Winn-Dixie, so shopping is a lot more of a contact sport than before.   Most of the debris removal is complete so you can get around better.  Street signs aren't replaced yet so missing turns is a new local hobby.

Since things aren't completely back to normal I expect a few cancellations, but if you can find a place stay Marathon is open for business.

Marathon in the Florida Keys should be your next fishing vacation destination. Join us for charter fishing, fishing guide trips or our fishing 101 so you can fish on your own with better success.

Tight lines,
