Planning your Trip
Life is real and some times it sucks. This week I lost a ton of money because people set their dreams based on their agenda and not the weather. What is going to happen weather wise is beyond your control. I don't care how much money you make. The weather will always over rule your bucks. If you want to have a kick ass trip, you may want to listen to someone like me.
That said, if people were not so authoritative, I could have made many people satisfied and possibly ecstatic with their trip to the Keys. But everyone wants to be the man or woman. If you trashed a prop, tore up a lower unit, didn't catch squat, perhaps you should have called me.
The locals in the Keys call clueless vacationers Googans. Googans are basically dumb shit vacationers that would rather pretend they know what they are doing than admit they are clueless. Not a sign of intelligence. ETA: You don't even have to book a guide to be less of a googan. Just calm down and listen to local guides.
The next time you try to save money on a do it your self vacation, think of some one like me that can save you money. You know who you are. Think about it.

i was a googan! been coming down for years. renting a boat armed with gps #s and off we would go. sure,we always caught fish.your in the Florida Keys you can always go out in the bay and catch fish. But last year my brother who captains the boat couldn't make it down so i needed someone to drive the boat. i had met Capt. Dallas a few years back when i went on a charter out of Sea Dog. i hired him to drive me and my family around for a week.[very reasonable rates i might add] that is when i realized that we were ''googans''. fishing in perfect conditions in the keys is easy.but you rarely have perfect conditions. the wind always blows.choppy seas,bad current,no current,high tide, low tide,full moon,time of day,and time of year all come into play.that is when you need to know your stuff.Capt. Dallas knows his stuff!!! he taught us a lot. he was great with my kids and has a great sense of humor too. He made our trip the best one yet. i already have him booked for our annual Christmas vacation. so do yourself a favor and don't be a googan! joe, from Chicago
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. Sorry about the venting folks. It's just that a guy cancelled a trip with me and I found out he trashed his boat. Shot his vacation. On the bright side he did say he will book me next year.
